Some of us have a habit of worrying, even
though we know it isn't helpful. When we
worry, we're not able to be in touch with the
wonders of life or be happy. We might feel
we'd like to get rid of our worry. But worry
is part of us. So, when worry comes up, we
have to know how to handle it-peacefully,
nonviolently, with tenderness. We can say
"Hello my little worry, I know you are there. I
hear you and I will take good care of you." With
the energy of mindfulness, we recognize and
embrace our worry, our agitation, our fear, and
our anger, tenderly, Just as we would hold and
calm a crying baby who is sad, angry, or afraid. 51
