A Planet Worth Counting

Where am I? How do I know?

Well, I don’t. I have no idea where I am. They tell me I am on a planet called Earth in the galaxy of Milky Way, but really those are just names that the species of humans created in order to use as reference points.

They tell me there are eight planets in the solar system of Milky Way. There used to be nine, but the humans decided the smallest one did not count (they have such a strange way of thinking).

They tell me there is an infinitesimal amount of galaxies, but they are so far away from the planet we are on, that they are not visible.

They also tell me that the size of the universe is so big that in comparison, this planet (let alone the humans) is so minuscule that it would be the equivalent of the smallest grain of sand on the biggest beach.

It’s quite strange to me that this species claims to have been here for millions of years (imagine that), and yet not one of them (there are nine billion of them) knows how they got to this planet nor why they are here.

They have split themselves into different groups that of which they call “religions.” These religions seem to have different explanations as to the how and why they are here.

I personally have found it most difficult to choose a group because how in the world (literally) am I to know which one is right? Therefore I choose not to commit to any one group in particular because in all honestly, they all have quite interesting theories.

Recently, I have been trying taking a little pieces from each group in hopes to put together one big puzzle, but the pieces seem to be just enough of different that they don’t fit perfectly, but well enough.

So when a human asks me where I would like to go, I do not respond with anything other than into the galaxy you call Milky Way. Maybe if I travel far enough I can find the other galaxies they speak of. Maybe I can find a ninth planet that is worth counting.
